Content Writer
 
  • $108,419.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Fixed term until 31 July 2021
  • Geelong location

The Dangerous Goods Legislative Reform and Secretariat Group (DGSG) is a specialist team responsible for supporting the Independent Review of the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and associated regulations (the Independent Review). The Independent Review is being led by an Independent Reviewer (appointed by the Minister for Workplace Safety) who is supported by the DGSG comprising policy, legislative, and stakeholder engagement experts from WorkSafe.

This is a writing and editing role to support the Independent Review and includes working with DGSG team members and the Independent Reviewer to contribute to the production of the Independent Review’s final report.

Key Accountabilities

The Content Writer will be part of the Secretariat Group that is supporting the Independent Review, working with secretariat team members and the Independent Reviewer to contribute to the production of the Independent Review’s final report.

More specifically the Content Writer will:

  • Champion simple, plain English content that helps to ensure the report is written in a way that is accessible to the whole community including people with low literacy, culturally and linguistically diverse audiences and people with a lived experience of disability
  • Review and edit content created by the Independent Reviewer and secretariat team members, ensuring that version control measures are maintained at all times

About you

You have a demonstrated experience in a similar Content Writer position within a complex organisation.

More specifically you:

  • Experience working on a government project with significant confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • Experience in producing comprehensive reports to Government
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, law, public policy and administration, science or health is required
