EPMO Master Scheduler
  • $132,814 per annum + superannuation (pro-rata)
  • Ongoing, part time role (Wednesday – Friday)
  • Geelong based opportunity

About the role

Reporting to the EPMO Lead, this job share role is accountable for the provision of expert advice and leadership, in the development of project schedules for individual projects and for the collective view of all project activities across the organisation.

This position will play a critical role in the translation of strategy to process, through the provision of expert program and project scheduling services, to enable delivery, governance and resourcing.

Key accountabilities

  • Construction & maintenance of WorkSafe’s Project Portfolio master schedule, including all project work streams, work breakdown structures, dependency management, program critical path analysis & management. The Enterprise schedule will provide key reporting metrics to the EPMO Lead and WorkSafe’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Working directly with Project/Program Managers, Project Directors & stakeholders to perform schedule reviews and to resolve scheduling & resourcing conflicts/constraints. Work closely with Portfolio Risk and Compliance Manager to ensure program level risks are captured and tasks/resources to mitigate are integrated into the master schedule.
  • Implement best practice concepts/standards (including schedule templates) to provide a consistent approach to schedule management and increase schedule management maturity across the Enterprise Project Portfolio.
  • Develop training material and lead training sessions for Project/Program Managers in schedule / work breakdown structure construction.
  • Provide mentoring and advice to the Project Managers as required, to address skills gaps in scheduling process/methodology knowledge.
  • Facilitate dependency workshops between project work streams and ensuring mapping is detailed in the project schedule and reflected in program schedule.

About you

You are an experienced Master Scheduler who wants to make a difference. Your written and oral communication skills are highly developed, and you have the ability to confidently liaise with a diverse range stakeholders across the organisation. You will also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Substantial experience in program level scheduling, critical path & WBS construction including proven management of multiple project schedules concurrently within large and complex organisations.
  • Successful portfolio and program scheduling in a matrix environment with associated linked dependencies and complex resourcing analysis.
  • Proven experience successfully managing complex multi-million dollar program schedules and projects.
  • Extensive project lifecycle experience understanding the planning and delivery of projects in their entirety including experience in PRINCE2, PMBOK, Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating enterprise schedule management systems (eg Clarity, Primavera etc.)
  • Experience developing training curriculums and delivering training sessions on Schedule Management
  • Formal program/project management qualifications, such as MSP, Prince2, PMBOKA knowledge, and/or experience in the delivery and realisation of best practice delivery of services to injured workers, workers, licensors and employers, would be of benefit, but not essential.

*Please note that this role will require the successful candidate to work a half day on Wednesday’s, with full days Thursday and Friday.
