Funding Officer
  • $111,421 per annum + superannuation
  • Full time, fixed term role until 31/07/2023
  • Geelong Location

About the role

The Funding Officer utilises expertise to provide specialist advice, management and review relating to all of WorkSafe’s health and disability provider fee schedules.

  • Responsible for ensuring all fees within WorkSafe’s systems are accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Providing assistance to the Recovery, Planning & Performance division on the development of contracts, fees and other commercial related work
  • Have a clear understanding of all WorkSafe fee schedules, policies and payment system rules which relate to fees
  • Co-ordinate the annual indexation process
  • Maintain records for all fee related changes
  • Work with key stakeholders to assist with the resolution of billing issues.

About you

You are experienced working as a part of a team and have a good knowledge of updating payment systems and maintaining system based financial controls. You are someone who is; flexible, curious, resilient and committed.

Skills and experience

  • Possess knowledge of pricing and insurance principles that may be gained through a combination of study and experience.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Client/customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a range of internal and external clients/stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email (Outlook preferred)
  • Knowledge of updating payment systems and maintaining system based financial controls
  • Sound judgement, high level of accuracy
  • Financial acumen and attention to detail
  • Ability to undertake effective research and analyse material
  • Ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information


  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Business) is desirable
