Commercial and Funding Support Officer
  • $75,213 per annum + superannuation
  • Full time, ongoing permanent role
  • Geelong Location

About the role

The Commercial & Funding Support role will support the Commercial and Funding Strategy team in relation to key projects across certain treatment and payment health services. The role requires understanding of Health Providers funding arrangements, the ability to provide Commercial and admin support for complex programs of work and to effectively respond to key emerging issues identified across these projects.

The Commercial & Funding Support will work directly with designated Coordinators and Commercial and Funding staff with a goal of driving service improvements resulting in greater independence and experiences for injured workers, along with developing more transparent and robust Commercial arrangements. This position will also be supporting and evaluating improvement opportunities for discrete units of work.

The Commercial & Funding Support will be flexible working across a number of concurrent projects able to mobilise quickly to enable program delivery or scheme performance improvement initiatives to be completed. 

Key accountabilities

  • Support the development of documentation, including but not limited to project briefs and plans, provider agreements, evaluation reports
  • Assist with research to support decision making and policy development
  • Assist with communication for implementation of provider change initiatives
  • Administration support including updating project plans, co-ordinating internal and external meetings, assisting in the resolution of billing issues that arise.
  • Consult with and build stakeholder relationships with key internal stakeholders within WorkSafe

About you

You will have previous client/customer service experience and enjoy working as a part of a team with a strong ability to work autonomously. You are someone who has excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Key attributes

  • Exposure to WorkSafe payment systems and funding arrangements.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a range of internal and external clients/stakeholders
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email (Outlook preferred)
  • High level of key board accuracy and attention for detail
  • Ability to undertake effective research and analyse material


  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Business) is desirable
